Opening doors...saving the world, one waterbottle at a time..

I've been spending quite a bit of time thinking of the best way to "start" my blog. Should I write up a grand introduction? Should I jump right into things? Should I keep it short and simple or make it elaborate and lengthy? I decided that I can't wait!!! I have SO much to share, including green living tips, vegetarian/vegan recipes, ways to save money, featuring great products by great companies- local, small businesses and bigger eco-friendly businesses, along with some awesome wahm goods and more! I'm really excited about this blogventure :)

I have several reviews lined up but in the meantime, check out this awesome website that I use to save money on quality goods. It's called Totsy. You can save up to get this: a whopping 80% off retail prices. It is mom/kid friendly. It's free to sign up. No spam... and my favorite part about it? For every purchase you make, one tree is planted. How much better can it get? You save money, they plant a tree!!!
So what are you waiting for??! click this link to join Totsy and save!!!  Right now, they have my favorite trusty Klean Kanteen waterbottles for less than half the original price!!! Just click on the Klean Kanteen link and see the original prices for yourself. Then sign up for Totsy, click on the Klean Kanteen sale and see the major price difference! But hurry, the sale only lasts for 3 days and things do sell out!!

I've been using mine for three years and counting. The one I have is the original stainless steel, but now, they have an awesome array of bright colors to choose from! With the Klean Kanteens, you don't have to worry about drinking from unsafe aluminum, or plastic containing bpa and phtalates with strange odors if they get warm, or creating more trash for our landfills. They are all stainless steel, so nothing yucky gets in your water; it tastes good and fresh, with no funny metal aftertaste. I'll always stand by Klean Kanteen products because it gives me a bit more peace of mind--- I highly recommend you do the same! Try it, you won't want to use a plastic waterbottle ever again!
Since I'm on the subject of using awesome eco-friendly waterbottles in place of plastic waterbottles, I'd like to smoothly navigate to the subject of trash in landfills :) I want to share with you this amazing photo montage called Running the Numbers: An American Self Portrait, by artist and activist, Chris Jordan.  His project visually examines these vast and bizarre measures of our society, in large intricately detailed prints assembled from thousands of smaller photographs. The underlying desire is to emphasize the role of the individual in a society that is increasingly enormous, incomprehensible, and overwhelming. Be sure to read the amazing and disturbing statistics with each photo set. You can think about these numbers in your head, but to see it laid out in photo format is astounding. 2 million plastic bottles used every 5 minutes? That’s truly mind-boggling...
Here's to saving money, being green, and planting trees :)
